First I want to say that you have ALWAYS taken care of me in the best way and I thank you for that.

1st question: Why doesnt LiveAuaria carry some of the basic things needed to care for fish? food

2nd question: I tried to order today some saltwater items and freshwater items. Why was I going to have to pay for two different shipping rates? one for saltwater and one for freshwater? I was ordering both at the same time from the same company. I needed some saltwater fish/inverts and some freshwater plants that were both from LiveAquaria.com .. It doesnt make any since to me if ordering from same place with both ready for shipping to have two different shipping charges.

rfields,

Thank you for your interest in our company. We offer our non-live supplies on www.drsfostersmith.com. Orders from this website ship from a separate facility from any of our live goods, and thus shipped as a separate order.

Live shipping is divided into separate categories due to the individual needs of the items. Freshwater and Pond Plants have a separate shipping charge; as does Live Rock and Sand. Fresh and Saltwater Fish and Invertebrates, as well as Marine Algae and Corals, are shipped under one shipping charge. There is an additional charge that applies to orders that ship both from our California and Wisconsin facilities. You can find our full LiveAquaria shipping information at the link below.

...I am extremely disappointed in the additional charge imposed for orders shipping from Wisconsin and California. I have never placed an order that did not include animals from both locations.

I was told on the phone when I placed my order for the saltwater fish and inverts that the freshwater plants where at the same location but a different building. I cant believe it is harder to ship freshwater plants than saltwater fish/inverts.

Rfields,

We apologize for any misinformation about purchasing plants. Our saltwater plants are shipped from our Aquatic facility in California. Our freshwater and pond plants are shipped from our Aquatic facility in Illinois.
