So I built my own stand and I'm planning to build a matching canopy. For my lighting I've decided that I'm going to do a retro kit instead of a fixture to go inside the canopy. Once I get up and running I was thinking about just starting with 2x39w T5 centered in the canopy and eventually adding 2 more. I have yet to decide whether I want to go with the AquaIllumination, Tek or IceCap. Is there much of a difference between the kits? Also, will 2 T5s be enough light to start me off with just some softies and mushrooms? My tank is 36Lx12Wx20H and I plan to keep the corals up on the rocks. The main problem I run into with lighting is that my tank is only 12in wide.
