2 spot goby help

So got 2 of them 3 days ago and last night I lost one cuz my damn sapphire damsel got him to jump out. Now I have one left and he's swimming far to much IMO for a sifting goby. Originally had the idea they'd each take a pistol shrimp but that failed and they paired up each other instead.

So I wanna get ewings last 2 spot today but should I just play it out and see or am I better off getting another for him to pair with.

Well I added another one and luckily they paired up. Hopefully become mates in the futur.

That's a good sign. They do better in pairs. In fact, I think they're one of the few fish you see in the trade who seem to fade without a mate.

Now cover that tank!

Is there another tank you could move the damsel to?

Well after seeing then the first day or two and how the pair acted once there partner was gone I saw drastic change in behaviour.

He was swimming alot more, rarely stopped to sift, and moved up and down the glass often!

IMO not the behaviour of a perching/sifting goby. After last night they are both now resting together. They act so good and like a pair when there are 2 together. Can't imagine one by itself.

i have one by himself. He's very timid and i wish i could add a second but dont know how that would go over. However they do better in pairs and will last longer if either 1) you have a larger tank or 2) you hand feed them multiple times a day unless you are feeding them live

A 10g tank but about 8g display area is what I have as I've custom arranged a refugium to be in the tank. Now he is acting as he was when I had the first pair. Trying to see where they sift most so I can hide some food under the sand. He wants to eat open area food tho as I've had him take a piece of mysis once or twice from me when I'd drop it close.

Well I lost one. Guess it hasn't eaten since it was brought in from the shop so pistol shrimp took him for a week meal treat ;) the other one seems to accept the odd flake or pellet if its in front of its face tho. Hopefully it accepts it more often!

Lost both. Definitly needs a WELL established tank souly cuz of the sand critters and pod population. May have ate live foods but couldn't get any around here
