2 sumps 2 pumps?

Have a stand that is built for 2 displays. (75 g on top. 55g on bottom). 75 has 2 drains
There is room for 2 55s on the bottom...
right now the 55 is just my filter junk area like usual, but I want to utilize my space and throw in I couple cool fish, but I don't want the filtration crap in sight.

Also...I don't want to have to drill anything.

My plan is to run 1 overflow pipe to one sump, the other pipe to the filtration sump with independant pumps.

Is this just a bad idea?

Personsally, I would be concerned with how you are going to balance the flow. These are a bunch of 'if' statements, but what if the drain to one sump becomes partially clogged so it is slower than the other? One sump will be running at reduced water level, due to slow drain, while the other sump could run the risk of overflowing? That is the first concern that comes to my mind...how to balance everything?

If possible, I would overflow from 75G to 1st 55, then overflow from 1st 55 to the 2nd, then pump back up to the 75. I know it probably defeats the purpose of what you are trying to do, and some others with more experience will hopefully chime in, but me personally? I wouldn't plumb overflows to different sumps with different pumps returning it back, but that may just be me.

Yeah u are totally right. I was in mid coffee and had to ask since I wasn't awake enough to think lol.
I pretty much need a 55 with holes...mines tempered and im not trying to have glass shards everywhere...you did spark me a good idea though...I can make a tall sump tank to put behind my 55.
thanks, problem solved

green is pump and pump line
red is from the over flow
purple balances the 2 sumps

Never even heard of water bridges before, but been looking at them now. Pretty neat...now I gotta figure out where I need one...lol

I though about just putting one in my Display tank in front of the light just for the heck of it. I know my puffer would love to play in one
