I have a 270 gallon empty tank that is 4'x4'x27". I want to try a tuskfish, I always enjoyed watching them at the LFS, never tried one, and someone on the board suggested it.
I am not a huge fan of the "one-of-everything" reef tanks we typically see - I'd rather have multiple of the same species where practical. Is this tank big enough to try 2 tuskfish?
Similarly the same online vendor offering a deal right now on the HTs has tank bred annularis angelfish on sale. Again, I am tempted to try 2 of them, but worry they won't coexist.
Both species start life as females and the dominate fish become male. Both exist in small groups in the wild. Both get large enough that a 270 might be too small for even 1 fish. However if there is any chance of keeping 2, I'd rather add them together rather than trying to add one later after the other is established.
