Does anybody know what these two guys are and whether or not they're reef safe? Community reef safe?

IIRC second fish is a snapper, altho I forget its exact name (SD guy beat me while I was trying to find the name!).

The dragon wrasse won't look like that when if reaches adulthood, and you'd need a pretty large tank for it (we're talking a 125 gal or more). Additionally, they aren't "reef safe"...they'll turn all of your rocks/frags over while hunting.

Emperor snapper, gets about 30"; probably delicious, if a true snapper.

Just curious: did the LFS know what they were selling to unsuspecting customers? Lots of fish, like these two, are regretted "impulse buys".

Both are not reef safe and the dragon wrasse is only marginally community safe.

The emperor snapper will eat other fish it can fit into it's mouth. The dragon wrasse will have a go at smaller fish and definitely kill/eat all your inverts at some stage.

Hate when stores try to sell fish like snappers, sweetlips, etc. Completely irresponsible, who has a tank to truly house a 30"+ fish.

Is that dragon actually green like that? Ive never seen one that wasn't just brown and white.
i've seen these juveniles while snorkeling in Hawaii. They were really bright green and looked like macro algae floating along the sand in shallow water. You could only pick them out when they would occasionally correct course by swimming a little before resuming their drift. Cool adaptation.
