(2) Wetside Failures on the same day

I have two MP40wES and both wet-sides failed yesterday. On one of them, the screw that holds the propeller and everything literally broke right after the magnet, I had a spare but now it is extremely noisy so i took it offline, its as if it will not seat correctly even thought everything is correctly assembled and the bearing is seated correctly. The second wet-side had the magnet fuse to the back plate, I had to pry it off. The plastic that holds the ceramic bearing tore off and the whole magnet/propeller/bearing assembly rotate together along with the wet-side. Neither showed any signs of failure and just happened all of a sudden. This is my second set of wet-sides, the previous two had the same exact thing happen to them as the second wetside. Is this something that is expected? I would assume if these are kept clean they should last a few years.

Trinewbie,

That is correct, a wetside that is properly maintained should have a long and noise free life. If you continue to have issues with wetsides, I would recommend double checking your aquarium's wall thickness and setting the dryside pin spacer accordingly. Also, please contact me directly to discuss replacement options. Service@ecotechmarine.com Attn: Alex
