If I have a lightly stocked 125 Gallon tank. 72x18x24 could I keep 2 yellow tangs or would this be a no no? Thanks

Until they get to be about 5 inches or so, then they can get very aggressive towards each other...give them plenty of swimming room and caves. They like to graze and swim...

I had one in the tank with no other tangs for about a week or so. I added the second today (which is a good bit bigger) and the first Tang immediatly was on him, Then they kinda got along for awhile then he was trying to slash him again. And now they seem to be Fine. I will keep an eye on them.

I don't think it would work long term in a 125. I have seen it done in some larger tanks, but nothing that size.

I acquired a 125 fully stocked and it had 2 yellow tang juveniles. I was told that they were added at the same time and it did not work long term. They would chase each other away from food and neither one would end up getting any because the rest of the tank ate it all while they were posturing. I tried it for almost a year with them battling off and on...They never did any significant damage to each other, but they stayed very thin together. I seperated them and they both improved in health a great deal.
So it may work short term for you, but I don't think that even in the short term it will be benificial to either.

I will keep an eye on them. No aggression at all yet today. They both were eating algae sheets from my clip. I will keep you all posted. Thanks for everything

As soon as one of them starts getting tatty or the odd split fin it is time to seperate them. Once hostilities break out, things will go down hill very quickly. They wont just squabble and resolve their difference.
It may be in weeks, months, or years - but in a 125 it is almost certain that at some stage things will go pear shaped.
Good luck.
