2 zoos shipped in same bag

i recently purchased two kinda of zoos from another member. they were shipped in the same bag and its been 5 days now and they have yet to open up. im worried that because they were in the same bag they fought each other with toxins from stress? they look some what alive just closed and very small.... is this plausible? thanks

ps tank parameters are great and all other corals look better then ever so, no its not that...

I have had many in same bag without any ill effects. I have never had any take that long to open. Did you drip them? How long we they in transist?

yes i dripped them the best i could but the bag didnt have much water left when i got them, some leaked out. only one day. the frags were nuclear green and a free frag not sure what it is. i was told by seller his nuke greens took a month to open up but this seems unheard of!

some times zoas/palys will take a few weeks to open up after shipping. that is normal and all you can do is give them decent flow and light.

having more then 1 frag shipped to you in a bag is normal and i myself do the same thing sometimes. i have never heard of that causing a problem.

not unheard of. a month is quite a long time and he probably said that so you dont stress about it. place it in a low flow med/low light and LEAVE it. the more you move and mess with it the more its going to stress out and me more open to infection/disease.

Yeah, I've had many shipments of zoas/palys with more than one in a bag. They don't seem to cause problems, toxicity-wise. It does leave more opportunity for damage from one frag to another, but this is rare.

Yeah, as for that, generally, if they are going to open after shipping, they will do so within a week. I find most zoas/palys go one way or another fairly quickly after receiving. I have seen some zoas close up for weeks that have been in the system for a while and suddenly didn't like something that happened in the tank, but new zoas don't generally hibernate right off; not if they're going to come around. Give it a few days though.

i can see a little color but there nuclear greens.. supposed to be big polyps. these look like miniatures and the outsides are white. very tine with a tint of green showing

ive gotton 3 or 4 frags in the same bag some take longer than others to open, I think as long as they dont look like they are melting

I dont like to put protopalys with the zoanthids, but zoanthids in the same bag isnt a big deal, and isnt relevant to the issues you are having with the polyps.

Sounds like they simply shipped poorly for whatever reason.

the fact that it IS two frags the same bag you are having issue with, it does lean towards the possibility that it was due to either too long in transit, or improperly packaged so that they got way too hot or way too cold.

ho were they shipped?? In a well sealed quality cooler and overnighted??

regardless of why, post some pics and we may be able to better guess if anything is really worng int he first place and maybe they are just taking their time, or if possible action needs to be taken

I received zoas in same container several times. Mine to,did not open. Was it from toxitity,no i dont think so.I placed them in flow and remained to watch them everyday I came home from work. I soon just considerd it a loss. After several weeks I noticed they were slowley starting to open...now...3 months later they look great and growing. So I went through the long waite and I am a believer that it can take several weeks to a month and yes..place them in med flow.Hope this helps

sorry it took so long. well any how by the time i got home only actinics were on but you can still see....

should i ask for a refund. its been a week now... the bag was broken and wasnt much water left so im guessing it could have been too hot?

wow.. the one on the bottom looks opened. Looks like they're REALLY bleached unless its just the lighting.
