Show me your 20 gallon tall reef tanks. I'm trying to get a good look at more tanks similar to mine. There is to many 20 gallon longs out there lol jk. I would like to see some 20 talls.

Here is mine, it looks slightly better then I imagined it at this point. Only 7 weeks in atm, and everything looks really good.

Why a mag 7 on a 20H? I think you would be better off running the tank with low turn over in the sump and high turnover in the tank using power heads.

Mine. It looks alittle different now,not too much. The pics i sabout 2 weeks old.

Mag7 is rated at 700gph. I'm going with a Mag9.5 in my sump so i can eliminate the powerheads. So mine is going to be more like a CL system.

I've been thinking of building out a 10g sump for my 20. JBMynes, do you have any pics from the top down so I can see how you did your baffles?

Thanks

This was my 20 tall about 3 years ago. I upgraded to a 40 breeder, then got out of the hobby for a while.

A mag 7 produces 460gph at 3' head, with the plumbing that I am doing. I will have about 12-15 gallons of water and 30 or so pounds of live rock, so that will give me a turn over in the tank of about 35 times an hour... If, after I get it up and running I need a powerhead, I will put one in there.... but I dont think I will...

JBmynes, Nice setup looks like it should work great. how are you going to disperse the return? spray bar or a single outlet?

Also, gorgeous dog! APBT or amstaff?

Tom

APBT, Thanks!! The return I have a 3/4 inch locline, but I think I might split that in to a "Y" 1/2 locline just to give me more options on where I want the flow.....

Nice, that should work well. good luck with it.

Its nice to see other people out there with unaltered APBT's. I was starting to feel like I was the only one.

Yeah, I have 3...lol My blue in the picture, a fawn female, and one of the 8 accidents... lol...

I've been thinking of getting this:

CustomFlo

For use with my refugium/sump, is this over kill? I really really like that the overflow and return are on unit. I'd probably modify the intake to have some surface skimming.

I'm not too sure that would be good for anything, it looks like (from the picture) that there is a really low intake, and that would suck really bad if your return pump ever takes a dump... it would suck all the water out and you would have a flooded room...
