20 Gallon Upgrade

Looking good Cory! About clowns...I will have 2 pairs in different tanks. You can never have too many clowns! They are so entertaining.

Update!

Update!

Well i had enough time to do a few things. Travis drilled my tank today, i watched and ran the water. He says maybe when i grow up i can drill one.:) I come across lots of large pvc and cut some 8" in half for an overflow. It just needs some trimming and holes cut in it. And i bought two clowns today. Enjoy!

I hope to have the overflow done, the back painted, and the return manifold done this week. If i have time i will start on the stand as well.

Its been out in the sun to long, so they cant bury it under ground anymore. I asked to buy a piece and they said its junk take what you want.

I love the 6" PVC overflow that I have in my 10 gal.

Looking good!

Oh, are you going to router some teeth into the overflow, or are you just going to let the water flow over the top of it?

haha nix_tank, travis asked the same question last night. I had to notch the back so the RM would fit, i think i have decided to silicone that and router the teeth. I will use the dremel on that though my router bit leaves a pretty big hole. I used 8 inch for the overflow on this. I also have some 10inch but that was to big.

lol, Travis probably asked becaused he used the other half of the 6" I used for his 10 gal!

I actually used a table saw to cut the teeth in mine, as it was a bit quicker for me.

Good luck, looking good!

Well, there you have it. three people with three different teeth cutting ideas. I can say that I used a dremel to cut the teeth on mine, and I really wished I had the ability to make them wider. The saw blade that Nick used wasn't much bigger than mine, and though I haven't seen it in action, I still worry that it has a little trouble keeping up. I would use a router if possible.

Maybe i can buy a bit of that screen from you and make the teeth wider then. I will make you guys happy with my tank.:D

Hey, I am good however you would like to make it! lol

Mine hasn't seemed to have a problem with keeping up Travis, even though I do get quite a bit of evap in this tank.

The width of negative space in my teeth is about 3/8". (Go ahead and keep your dentist jokes to the general peanut gallery, lol).

Your spacing is a lot wider than mine, then. Mine is pretty tiny. Of course, it can barely handle 100-150g unless I widen the weirs or do something else.

I've been reading alot of the post you guys have been doing sorry i never chimed in but like my numbers tell you i'm more of a looker not a poster but i have to say you guys have inspired me hahahaha i'm going to make the big leap from my 55gal that i can't seem to control because of cost and go down to a 10 or 20 that i have lying around i just got one question so far lighting as always i was woundering if you guys think these lights would work i've been looking for the american but all i could find was this one its a 6500k but not the american one and the other i'm still researching to see if its even 6500k here's a pic
