20 Gallon Upgrade

hay thanks for the advice i looked at it again for the 100 time and i seen it for the first time the light i want to use has everything that your light had so thanks again

If you dont mind me asking, are you trying to cut down electric costs or water maintenance? There may be ways to keep your 55.

sorry didn't mean to get off topic it was just a question i had cause i'm using the same tank design that cweber is building i was just going to go with your light design travis

trying to get down on water maintenace.......all my supplies would last alot longer

hay look 100 post wahooo!!!!it only took me over a year hahaha

two part calcum, biweekly water changes, trace elements my main thing is that i have a ditrus factory and i think it is coming from my skimmer beigning so small so i was going to move that one over to my 20 gal and eventually get a new bigger better one for my 55

i see your almost at 100 to .... congrats lol

and back to your tank how far up from the bottom is your drain it look kinda low

i like the wrap around pvc looks like you have a step down on it. what kinda pump you plan on using, i have a dolphn 650gph i plan to use on mine i just have to buy a new prop for it

your not worried about over flowing your sump if you lose power to your pump..that happened to me and boy did it suck:lol:

No thats what the overflow box is for. Once the water level is below the overflow it cant run anymore. My power goes out all the time, at least once a week.

I assume the pvc your talking about is my return manifold? My pump is a viaaqua approx 360gph. With 4 outlets on the RM.

i never thought about making a 4 out put return i might have to use that if you dodn't mind and yeah your right about the over flow duh i don't know why i didn't thing about that.

Not yet, i was busy this weekend. I got a few things left to do and will post an update. Its almost done.

Getting Closer

Getting Closer

Okay i have the panels on the stand they still need trim put on them. You can see my ghetto drying method. And i have the tank painted and the overflow siliconed in place. The tank is now complete. When i get the trim and the tank stained it will be done.
And now pics!
