IMO, they have been $$$ on some of their divers den sales.

the black tangs they had about a year and a half ago were listed @ $3,000 ea.
i spoke to my LFS and he pulled his cost and showed me on the co. computer they list for $800.00 ea.
they looked identical to me!

"MY OPINION" does not reflect that of RC, its sponsers, etc...

I think you might be confused with the Gem tang. I have followed LA's divers den religiously and I don't think I have ever seen anything priced that high but I do agree that they are generally on the high end. I guess you get what you pay for though.:D

i must have missed that one but absolutely love the "Lemonpeel Angelfish Aberration".
someone needs to buy the H. malu so i can stop beating myself up over it and just kick myself and be done with it. lol.
if i don't buy it i hope whoever does will post pics.
thanks all.

If I wasn't going out of town soon I would have really thought about it. But already asking a lot of the person watching my tanks, don't need to have her worry about a new anemone too.

Why not?! Thats the fun part! You never know what you are going to have when you get home. So far, I have always won.

I am trying to decide between this and a carpet. Also my temps hit 84 and drop to 82 daily would this be a problem with either.

as long as it's a gradual change and it should be in a 210, it'll be fine. H. malu are found in calm shallow water. based on where they occur i'm sure they're adapted to varying temp. and salinity. S. haddoni should be alright too.

haddoni but it's a fish eater, thats why i sold mine. sebaes aren't a whole lot more challenging. i'd group bta, S. haddoni, lta and sebae's together roughly in that order. S gigantuea and H. magnifica are the most demanding.

Holy Cow... I bought it.

I have 2 other H. Malu's in my other tank and have been looking for a new unique one for one of my tanks. If my husband ever finds out I spent that much he may very well kill me.

I am SO excited and nervous! I've never bought anything from Divers Den before.

Once it's aclimated it will be home to my GSM pair - how beautiful will that be!? I've been looking for something purple or green for them to contrast their colors so this will be perfect.

Ok - will someone assure me that this is going to go ok!? I'm so freaking out. (About shipping and stuff)

Sigh... Off to work - tomorrow it will arrive at my FedEx location!!!

By the way - as for the question of is $200 overpriced for an H. Malu?

My other 2 H. Malu were both between $40 and $60 - but the store selling them didn't realize what they were. I have one that is maroon with a creamish colored ring of tentacles around the outside. The my other is Mauve colored with greenish/yellow tips. That one is new - only a few weeks into my tank.

For this size Malu and color morph - I don't think it's overpriced because it's exactly what I've been looking for. Based on the behavior and health of my other two H. Malu they're the perfect Nem for me.

I'll DEFINITELY keep everyone posted!

Kim
