"Tank view" from basement, it has run with salt water for two weeks, brown algae begin to bloom, cleaning crew has been added, include trochus snails, over 100 sand sifting sea star, several sea urchins and some sea cucumber...

wow!Welles ,this is a big project. but i didn't it on CMFISH, good luck and hope you could share more details.
 
The word Wow does not do this justice. This is my new favorite set-up. Very cool. Thanks for sharing this with RC.

WOAW this is what im going to have when im old enough!!!

but i have some questions:

1. what are you goung to do as far as flow
2. are you going to rely on the mangroves alone for filtration(if thats even possible)
3. will the tank be 100% naturally lit

1. There is a small area in the shallow area to put some pumps for flow, the outlet of the pumps is hidden in rocks of deep area.

2. Beside the pool there is a equipment room for sump , skimmer and other equipment, now we used a big BUBBLE-MAGUS skimmer, so I think the filtration for this pool is quite "traditional", it is reply on skimmer and live rock mostly.

3. No, some metal halide will be added for additional lighting (aslo for view in the night)

It's an absolutely amazing build. Your friend is doing something a lot of us dream about. A large tank that has room for full potential and livestock. I can only guess and dream as to how it will look in a year. Good luck and please keep us posted.
