fukr:  Yeah, FL beaches have got to have all sorts of cool stuff. I would guess flipping rocks would yield a lot of interesting creatures and zillions of pods.

If you click on the red house, it will take you to my pics garage and the first page has a link to the beginning of my build thread, as well as a link to the original construction photos.

I appreciate the welcomes. In future posts Ill try to not be beligerently drunk as to keep the rambling to a minimum. Thanks for the link to the beginning of your thread jnarowe. Awesome tanks everyone, hell even this smiley is awesome: :strooper:

I was wondering. The tone sounded familiar to me. Much like what happens to me sometimes. :) Alcohol and keyboards can have some interesting results. :) Welcome!

CoralFiend: From your web site:

If you are a beginner to this hobby, please remember that the animals you bring home with you are fully dependent on your skills as a reefkeeper. While it is difficult to resist bringing home armfuls of beautiful, expensive showpiece corals to fill up that new salt water tank - please be responsible enough to know if you can meet their individual requirements to live. Patience in all phases is key to being successful in this hobby.

I couldn't agree more. I can't believe what I see inexperienced reefers buying in the stores.

Yeah, reef keeping is best done when your working on the second half of your case. And best part about that is if you wake up early enough then your still drunk when you wake up. Thats the perfect excuse to not go anywhere and just sit around looking at your tank, maybe test the water if you feel like it. Alcohol and keyboards can have interesting results. I thought I might of had something real interesting this morning when I woke up and remembered I posted on here but luckily I kept it pretty clean. Sorry about the assjackery nyvp, Im done now. I do have a question though, how were all those fititngs a grand? Thats a ton of money for stupid fittings. Did you try home depot?

Sched 80 is exp and then your talking about TUBVs (True Union Ball Valve) and start getting into the 2" range it gets exp... If I recall right the 2" TUBVs for my tank were like $37.00 a piece...

you can buy some things at the big box stores, like we have a Lowe's here locally that sells sched. 80 unions for the same price as sched. 40 and they are quite cheap. I had to really search around for good prices on things like 3" bulkheads, but they still cost over $50 each.

I got most of my stuff from SAVKO and saved quite a bit of dough, but I figure for my system, plumbing came in at around a grand too.

If I had to do it all again I wouldn't use any sch 80 it was a waste of close to $400. I belive that I needed them ....it not true. If I could do it all over I would have bought lowes true unions or savko and saved the money.

Thanks for all the kind words

I wonder if Salifert will be coming out with an alcohol Test Kits for you guys.

I didn't use much schedule 80 either except for unions and some high use valves. I have dropped sched. 40 unions and shattered them. There definitely is a difference in quality but like you said, it's not always really necessary.

Hey, love your sig. and keep that whole thing on the down-low, I don't need a knock-and-talk with all the damn halides I got going! You know, the constant hum of fans, 1000W MH lamp glow, and a electric meter that looks like it is going into orbit!

I'm going to have to disagree with all of you and say that mary jane is the best for reef keeping...

I prefer both. Normally I dont drink till evening.....I didnt say anything though because its my first post and I dont want to immidiately start talking about drugs like some hippie. I do know its prevelant in the reefing world, after all these lights do simulate photosynthesis.

effing great, I am surrounded by marijuana smokers!!!

What is this world coming to, I do know it is going to hell in a hand basket though...

And by the way, is it okay to trade frags for da ganj???

Yeah, its ok. we just cant post about it. but I agree with jonathan, no more talk of this. leads to trouble. :hammer:
