I am working on events for 2007 now. It is still in the early phases, but I can always use suggestions. So, let's hear them.

Steve,

Going to be tough to beat this years line up :)

Some Ideas

1. Sanjay Yoshi as a speaker? (lighting and reflectors)

2. Mike Paletta as a speaker?--His presentation at the zoo was very interesting.

3. DIY Workshop--Frag plugs, Frag Racks, Tank Drilling (Could possibly do a long day type meeting/picnic/DIY workshop/yard sale at a park). Boyce Park or North park? It looks like pavillions aren't too expensive.

4. Field Trip :) Tank Tours, Cleveland Frag Swap/ Salty Critter Or That Fish Place

5. Another roundtable

6. Any chance of a behind the scenes at the Zoo?

The coral propagation workshop is an annual event and will likely be in January again.

The roundtable seemed to go over very well, so we will likely repeat that event this year as well.

By 2007 I should have my entire DIY automation project complete and could give a talk about it and some of the technology and ideas. Maybe a few others could present DIY projects along the same lines. OR even just a DIY show and tell meeting would be neat.

Here are a couple of other ideas that have been suggested:

Sandy Shoup and her microscopic safari through her tank,

Joe Burger and aquarium lighting,

and an aquarium photography workshop.

If the club wants to buy me the new Nikon VR lens and Micro setup I will be glad to help put on a photography workshop :)

If somebody has a contact at the PPG Aquarium, it would be cool to get a "behind the scenes" tour on all the filtration the run, lights, how they do it...etc.....
