200g acrylic tank gap between stand and aquarium

I have a seaclear 2 acrylic aquarium that's 8'x2'x2'. There's a small gap that's between the stand and the corner of the aquarium that's less than an 1/8" space. It spans about 6-8 inches before there is firm contact with the stand. When I built the stand, I crowned the boards up assuming the weight will bow the boards down. I haven't filled the tank yet to see if the weight will level it, but this is really sketching me out to take the risk of flexing the tank. Im considering dismantling the stand which will be a nightmare since its painted, glued and screwed. I've also considered filling the void with something.

You shouldn't crown the boards hoping the stand will push it back. That's a recipe for serious stress at focused points and potential for catastrophic failure.

Build it flat and solid.

I picked through a hole stack of lumber to get the straightest pieces. None were 100% straight. I'm considering loosening the plywood on the top and shimming between that and the bracing. That has been painted and floated to look see less s, it would be much easier to fill the gap without doin that i.e. "Old credit cards under the tank". My wife recommended that. Seems kinda symbolic to me. Haha. Anyway any of your experience is much appreciated. I've searched plenty and just want to make the best choice with my situation. Thanks.

You could take the tank off, rim the top with temporary forms about 2" wide x 1/4" thick standing ~1/4" proud to the top, then fill in the top with self-levelling compound (assuming the tank stand is in it's forever place). When the compound is dry, remove the forms, fill and touch up any holes, then remount the tank on the stand.

Would you use leveling compound like what's used for tile? I've considered this. How do u feel about shimming it? Old credits cards or an old lexan goggle lens? It is only about a credit card from being level in the corner.

Yes, the thin cement mix that self-levels. Only you can see what's there and make the judgement call.

Thnx dave. Really appreciate it. That's what I'll probably do. I'm eager to get water in it but I'll follow your advice. One less sleepless night!! Haha.
