2010 MRC board of directors elections

Hello folks!

Hope everyone had a great thanksgiving!

well, the end of the year is fast approaching, and the first full year of MRC has come. We have had huge successes with two frag swaps, have three wonderful LFS sponsors, and many members! It has been a successful year thanks to all of our members and sponsors!

But, as the beginning of 2010 approaches, we will be having our re-elections for the BOD. Last year, the elections were kind of thrown together as we were just getting started, but this year we want to give everyone a heads up and an opportunity to get in on the election process.

This is how this will work: if you wish to be on the board, send an email to montgomeryreefclub@yahoo.com and tell us you wish to run and for what position. We have the pres, vp, treasurer, & secretary. We are wanting you to submit through email as this ensures your name gets on the ballot in the event you can't make it to the meeting in January.

We will be accepting nominations thru the end of Dec and will hold elections during the first reef meeting in January (time/place tba). Please don't feel like you will be hurting our feelings...if you want to be a part of the board, please let us know!! In order for an organization to grow, it is always in need of new ideas and new people.

She can talk your head off after a couple of drinks and she loves to talk about her tank and corals when she does...at least when she calls me it's hours on the phone nuttin but corals corals and more corals....oh wait! that's right, she doesn't know alot about them other than what they do in her tank when she feeds them...and trust me...she watches that tank better than most people do their kids. If one little tiny thing happens(and I mean microscopic) she knows it right away when she looks in the tank...now you tell me ...over obessed of just needs to get out more...if she ever talks Bill into a tank big enough for her to swim in.....he can hang it up, she be the next real life mermaid and wouldn't ever come out except to pee maybe...heehee
Anywho...I agree that Gary should keep his position..he knows way more than I could ever know about the hobby

we've got one official opening for the BOD. the treasurer spot will need a new officer as i will be stepping down. I will continue on until next month.

also, the upcoming year is approaching and i've got two confirmed sponsors for next year. Aquarium Fantasies and Atlantis Aquariums will still be offering the club discount. It will be $20 for the year 2010. We do accept paypal at montgomeryreefclub@yahoo.com.

lastly, the christmas season is approaching so if you wish to give your significant other ideas for you for xmas, don't forget that gift certificates from the stores are a great option!!

i also wanted to emphasize the importance of getting nominations in by the end of this month. I want to get a list of the nominations out BEFORE the elections in january so in the event that you can't come to the jan meeting, you can still vote. i can send out the nominations via email so if you want to vote but can't come, you will still feel that sense of "anonymity" if you don't want your vote to be public record.

i haven't gotten any confirmed nominations yet, so we are needing four volunteers as of now. so, please, if MRC wishes to keep a good thing going, it needs the volunteers!!
