Hello CMAS Members!
We hope you are all looking forward to the holidays this year!* We sure are!
It is that time of the year again where we need to start thinking about the upcoming elections for the Senior CMAS Board of Directors!
Elections are held every 2 years in November, with nominations in October. *We will be having an election in 2012.
As you may or may not know, anyone that wants to run for a board position has to fulfill a few qualifications first. We wanted to take a moment to remind you what these qualifications are:
1) all Board members must be paid CMAS members in good standing
2) all potential new board members must have attended a minimum of 4 membership meetings during the election year. ( there are only 6 membership meetings prior to the election! )
3) Board members are not allowed to have a vested commercial interest in any reef related company.
The 2012 membership meetings will be held during the following months:
1) January
2) February
3) April
4) May
5) September
6) October
The following board positions will be voted on in November:
President
Vice President
Secretary
Treasurer
If you are interested in running for one of these positions, we encourage you to let us know. We would like the opportunity to work side by side with you during the calendar year to help you familiarize yourself with the operations of the club and to make the transition as smooth as possible.
We look forward to working with you!
Thanks!
