Old School Reefer
Hello Fish People and Coral Reefers of West Tennessee!
Wishing you all the best as we move into 2013. We might be jumping over a fiscal cliff, but if it's underwater it's an easy swim to the bottom and usually a gorgeous view down! Our hobby sure does give us a lot of fun (yeah, I know, a few headaches once in awhile and some big bills at times as well, but we know it's well worth it!). I always enjoy getting together with fellow reefers and learn more about their experiences with our hobby. So,,,, let's do it again!
You and yours (spouses, kids) are invited to this year's annual New Year Pizza Party. It is on Saturday January 19, 5 - 7 pm at Fox Ridge Pizza on 1769 North Germantown Parkway in Cordova. The club will provide the pizza and soft drinks. We'll have drawings for prizes as always, so bring your club membership card to put in the fish bowl!
I will introduce you to the new officers for this year, and we'll chat about directions where we'd like to take the club this year. Please seriously consider hosting a monthly meeting at your house this year and get back to me asap with the month of your preference. We had some great meetings last year but way too few of them for my liking... but we need hosts to make this happen. Also bring suggestions for topics you'd either like to learn more about from someone else, to discuss with the group, or perhaps present yourself at these meetings. Many of our members are new to the hobby and could learn a lot from the old barnacles and venerable clams of our club, so don't be surprised if some of the topics have been discussed in the club's ancient past!
Anyway, I'm really looking forward to seeing you again and getting together as a group, and also meeting new members that have recently joined as well. (we now have 55 members). Please RSVP with how many you will be bringing (either via responding to the club email or on this thread. We need to plan ahead how much pizza to have ready.
That's it for now. Until Jan 20, best fishes for a great narwhal! :fish1:
