Possibly a very stupid move on my part, but we will see. A store near by is off loading all their fish stuff...including corals. i noticed a brown coral underneath a pile of LR. I dug it out and it turns out it's a near dead encrusting montipora. i'm guessing it may not make it, but i dont have the heart to not try and know it will die.
i remember seeing it there a month or so ago and it had monti nudis...i dont see any on it, but it is going through a heavy inspection and dip process as i type this...pics to come of this large brown blob
the monti looks like it will pull through. honestly i've never seen an SPS in such poor shape. no RTN, but barely no symbiotic algae. it's turning yellow green and it has already developed polyps...that happen to by pink/purple.
growth is at an all time high. i'm having trouble keeping up. I ran out of kalk solution and after a late night i didnt replace it. cal dropped below 300... i've been adding small amounts to vinegar to help with the increase demand.
reefgeek carries them. it's a crisp white light. I'd like to throw in a fiji purple in the mix... in person they pop colors like i've never seen any t5 bulbs do
Hey i just read this thread Eric, there will be no kicking of my posterior! Great setup Eric, guess what? im possible back as early as next week with a 20 gallon finnex m tank
