20L for RBTA

I am thinking about setting up an Anem specific tank. It will also house a few bule damsels (since I love them but know they will not be "good" tankmates in my reeftanks).

I am thinking I could start with a 20L and as the Anem splits and grows (a year or 2) upgrade. The 20L is ideal for me because A-space (it's small and will be easy to find a place for, plus I am sure the Anem will be on the small side and I don't want a huge tank with only a tiny Anem in it. I would be way too tempted to start adding other stuff to fill in the voids...., B - it's real shallow so I will need less intense light, and C- I would be able to do 25% WC's weekly without much hassel (therefore they will get done). I figure I could use a HOB skimmer since it will be a relatively light bioload and the WC's should almost suffice in and of themselves.

Another option would be to drill the 20 and run a sump (prefer not too as then I would need a new cabinet instead of putting it ontop of a cabinet I already have).

Anyone have thoughts or comments on this?

Go for it, i had an rbta in a 7 gallon minibow under 32 watt power compacts until it out grew the tank. Only had live rock, small powerhead and one small gsm clown.

Good luck!

Awesome, that's what I was thinking.

heuerfan - how long did it take to out grow the tank?
