210 – Build in Progress – Pictures

Let there be light!!!

Ok, I finally powered it up. I added a bar in the back of the rack that has 3 fans, and wired them along with the other 2 fans.
I also mounted the ballast inside the stand.

What do you think?

Thought I'd share another photo since a couple of weeks have gone by and I've move in a few tanks and some softies from my other tank.

My light hood is just temporally resting on the tank as you see it in the pictures. Once I get around to it, I am going to be suspending it from the ceiling above. Thats why I made the hood as small and as lite as possible.

Thank you, thank you! Yeah, I can wait until the curtain is gone and is replaced with a nice wood cabnet. You did see the pictures above without the curtain right? It shows all the plumbing.

Now I know your a liar, you love not having any veneer on that stand...

IS not hot in that room? I my case i had to makr vents of my canopy into my attic b/c its was HOT! 3 400 MH's. THe fans blow hot air out of the canopy into the attic.

Thats really a sweet setup, love the rockwork.

Do you have a lot of light reflected from the top of your canopy with the open design? It doesn't look like much but i could'nt tell from the pictures.

Thanks!

Thank for the comments!
Not too much new progress on this tank.

Unfortunately, my Maroon Clownfish started fanning the sand with his tale and caused the left side of my rock stack to become unstable; I’ve since had to re-stack.

My light rack is working out really well. Seeing that all 3 T5 and 3 MH bulbs have reflectors, not much light at all is lost through the top. Also, because I wired in 5 4” fans turning on my lights don’t add any heat to the tank. As far as the room, I don’t think it affects the temperature, I’m sure it adds a great deal of humidity, but haven’t really measured it. My tank evaporates roughly 3 gals per day.

everything looks great....my only question is why didn't you paint the background? a flat black would have looked gorgeous...other than that sweet deal man!

Love the aquascape...
I too am wondering why not paint or cover the background?
Just curious since so many reefers go that route.
Mine is only covered with background paper, I have not decided if I want to paint or not...

cool...yeah it's basically a preference...keep it with the black...definitely looks cleaner that way. Keep up the good work man.
