Ok... So I think I have my 125 sold. The guy wants my sump/refugium, skimmer and return pump as well. My 210 will be here on Monday, the guy agreed to give me time to get the 210 running so I can transfer rock and livestock.
I will build a new sump but I need to buy a new return pump and skimmer. I'm currently running a waveline dc 6000 return pump and a reef octopus SRO2000. I love the waveline pump and I'm considering getting the dc 10 or 12000 and making another manifold for bio pellet and carbon reactor. I also have had great experiences with reef octopus skimmers. What are you all using and how do you like it?

Just a heads up on the skimmer. I bought an sro3000 years ago and now I have to replace the bolts in the pump due to rusting. Go on coralvue's website and buy the titanium bolts for 2.50 and save yourself the headache.
 
I just scored a 75 Gallon custom sump from a guy on Craigslist. It's only 3 months old. It needs a little cleaning but other than that it is in perfect condition. Cheap money too!!
 
The 210 got delivered tonight!! I'm glad my new room wasn't completely done! We had to remove a door and 2 small framed walls to get it into the new living room. I love the size of this thing!

You should upload the image to an on-line image service like Photobucket, Flickr, etc. Make sure you set permissions to allow the Public to view the image. The image server will give you a "Direct URL" for your image. Copy the URL.

Back here on RC, in the Editor you will see a yellow icon of a mountain (sort of). Click on the mountain icon and a box will pop up. Paste your image's direct URL into the box. Save your post and there it is on RC.

Thanks Dave, I'll try it out.

I thinking of going hard bottom on this tank. I've always had a sand bed in every tank I've ever had. So this might take some getting used to. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Pro's and con's
 
I've had refugiums for a long time... My fish guy (who has his own maintenance and set up business, and I trust him) hates them and is trying to get me away from setting up a refugium on the 210. Now I'm not sure what to do... Is anyone else against them on here?
 
I have a waveline 12000 on my 150. I have it turned way down and it's feeding the tank and brs dual reactors just fine.

I wonder if they're are cons to running a refugium.

I was just looking at that pump or the Deepwater BLDC12 pump... It's a toss up.

I guess if u don't do any maintenance on a fuge it might cause some issue??? Not sure
 
I haven't posted on this in a while as we are still not done with the new living room. My 125 is still up and running strong. I have 130 lbs of live rock in it and I bought another 100 lbs of dry rock that is in a brute trash can curing. My question is... Should I dip my rock that is in the 125 before I put it in the 210 once I transfer everything?
 
Is there anything living on/in it that you should need to dip it? If you dipped it, what would you dip it in? It's not a coral that you would use coral dip for. Freshwater would do little. Acid baths are more than a dip and require thorough rinsing and airing afterwards.

I was thinking of using coral rx because some of the rock has coral I don't want to remove plus If there was any pests or anything on the rock it would still get them off the rock. Or am I just being crazy? 3/4 of The rock in the 125 is 6 years old.
 
Stuff like Coral Rx is usually intended for coral mounted on plugs during quarantine period, not whole rocks. You'd have to be a lot more clear on what it is you're aiming to kill off. If the rock is 6 years old in the tank I would think that anything that was going to come out would be showing by now.

I do have some flat worms right now that I'm in the process of removing with siphoning and a melanarus wrasse. I do have pleanty of time before the 210 is running. I just don't want anything bad in the tank to start.
 
STAND question????

So my flooring will be done today. I'm going to start to build the stand for the 210... What is the preferred height of a stand? It will be in a living room where we will be mostly sitting to view the tank but I don't want it too low when standing in front of it either. The tank is 29 5/8" tall and I will be building a 10" tall canopy. I'm thinking about a 30-35" tall stand which would put the top of the tank at around 60-65". Any suggestions?
