210 Gallon freshwater set up, sound alright?

Jim your plant tank could be the first SERIOUS plant system in this area, just keep adding plants (the right ones). Oh and make sure you add those Ammono shrimp, I believe they simply call them "Algae shrimp" where we get ours (you know the place.)
You want to see something amazing try adding some Seachem "Flourish Excel" you wont believe your eye :)
 
Jim, I actually bought a pair of them... Two big cannisters for just over $100 shipped (this was a couple of years ago) you just cant beat. Before I hooked them up, I decided to sellthem for odds & ends to make a SW tank... The dude I sold them to said they work great... Also, from what I read in a VERY detailed review on
aquaticplantcentral.com, the only real problem the reviewer had with them, was that they did not quite push as much water as advertised. He did several tests with them, running them at different heights, with & without media, etc.... If I recall, they avgd just over HALF of what they were advertised. Not very good, but you get what you pay for.

I think Mary said she had a Jebo UVS that she had no problems with... I have seen a few reviews on their light systems, & the last I saw it seemed like you could get unlucky & get a bad socket, or something of that nature, & they were difficult to contact. But I have never heard of their product burning down a house, or anything... Also, somewhere on RC, there was a thread from someone who got one of their skimmers & made some huge mods to it, with great success. All their products are knockoffs of name brands, I think its worth the price to the hobbyist trying to save a buck... Cant wait to hear what experience you have with the stuff!

There are several planted aquarium enthusiasts around here.. they just arent as dense (in population, not in the head) as the salties... There is a woman up near Beckley who breeds shrimp & snails for FW tanks, & several local planted afficianados. You just dont hear from em. The fella I sold those Jebos to has a really nice 125... looks REALLY nice. Its not an Amano production, but who has 4 hours to spend in their tank all day, trimming plants with tweezers & tiny scissors?
 
Okay just for the record My saltwater tank started out with Jebo 4 X 55 watt pc fixture X 2 (90 gallon) and a jebo skimmer. My mother also has the Jebo lights on her 75 salt tank.

My Mother, Brother as well as my Brother in Law are using Jebo UVs and have not had any problems with them at all.

I do however also make sure to buy my Jebo products from Aquadeal on Ebay. I also have several pumps some with filters and some with out filters. These have been in use for almost three years and I have only cleaned them 1 time about a year ago. Yet they still work. I have only had to replace the impeller 1 time in 1of the pumps in all this time.

I love the Jebo skimmer (2005 Quad) hang on or in sump.
 
I remember my second set of pc lights, I bought the Jebo 4x55w light. I thought they were alright until I put a 2 x 55 watt light on my tank that I had once used on a smaller tank. The 2x55w pc light was much brighter than the 4x55w Jebo.
 
The ones I got from aquadeal were as almost as bright as my 400 watt mh lights but didn't have the shimmer effect that we wanted.
 
Cool, might have just been the one I had then. Either that or they made some changes. I saw a lot of negative reviews about them on here around the same time that I had mine.
 
I got mine when they first hit ebay. But I got Mom's about 14 months later. All I can say is that I always get my Jebo Products from aquadeal and have never had a problem. He will even replace bulbs broken in shipment in your next order, with no problems.

If I want something he doesn't have I call Peter (he owns the aquadeal name on ebay) and explain what I want and within a few months he has found it for me at about 1/4 the price of other brands. (when it is something that I can wait for.)

I ask for a skimmer he got the 2005 quad, I ask for a uv and he got the 9watt seems like they have the turbo twist but I don't have one here. My mom, brother and brother in law do though. I got them all on ebay but it has been a long while since I got them so I can't remember for sure.

:confused: He won't replace broken bulbs until you place another order? Seems like he'd have insurance to cover shipping damage especially with lights.
 
I'm pretty sure that insurance is offered on shipping for an extra, very small, charge. What Jebo should do is, instead of leaving it up to his customers, include the extra price with his shipping and insure his product. Thats just bad business for anyone with fragile items to not have them insured. However, with postal insurance, he would not be responable for the item once it left his hands, and unless you can wait a VERY long time for your money, the insurance is useless. I used to be a post master.
 
Okay guys it is the shipping from CA that is the problem. He will ship immediately if you want to pay the shipping. But having experience with the cost of shipping from CA I didn't want to pay it. It would seem he inflates shipping. But I know better as I once had to ship some stuff home from Ca. It is definately higher there than anywhere else I know of.
 
very true Mary, my daughter lived there for about 8 months, she just moved back about 4 months ago, everything is way over priced in CA.

From looking at his auctions he does
Shipping insurance
Included (in the shipping and handling cost)

btw insurance up to $100.00 is free with Fedex and UPS. With Fedex an additional $100.00 runs about $1.50.
Of course if something breaks do to improper packing the claim won't be honored.
 
well it looks like I will have all their products in stock within 6 weeks by the email I got today, so you won't have to worry who insures what, when and where then if you don't want to.:)
 
Kind of off topic but I went to the creek and picked up about 100 pounds or so of creek rocks (larger stones) on Thursday. Tonight I cleaned them all really well and then boiled them for 1/2 an hour. They are ready to go in the tank. I cleaned all of the river rock (gravel) up a couple of weeks ago. It is all ready to go into the tank tomorrow when the stand gets here.

I also received two hydor 300 watt heaters this evening and a coralife 300 watt uv sterilizer on Friday. It is all ready to go. Only thing I have left to order (equipment wise) is a temperature controller. After that I need to build a hood for it and then all thats left is stocking the tank.
