okey dokey - I like these threads - those that start out "reasonable"
Comments:
Blueface Angel & Emporer angel
I recently tried this combo in my 8x2x2 tank. Introduced same time, blue face slightly larger in adult colours, emporer in juv. colours - whilst they did not "fight" as such, it was abundantly clear that the emporer was boss, and teh blue face rarely came out..... I got rid of the blue face, it wasn't fair on the animal. My advice, from my experience - don't do it. Although there are a couple of guys here that have done and are doing it, with much better results. Its a 50-50 really, and I personally wouldn't do it - not if you intend keeping these fish for a long time.
Cown Trigger - are you aware of the "might go mental at any moment" nature of this fish. You could have him for years, then one day ho could flip and kill everything....... as long as you are aware of that "risk", then I would add no further comment.
Puffers - no great amount of experience with puffers - I'd add him before the other big boys, apart from that he seems well suited to your mix - in my limited expereince anyway.
Picasso - nice fish, had one for a few eyars - shouldn't give you any trouble.
Eel - my personal view on eels is that they are big, clumsey brutes that will make aquascaping diffiult, and will break your heart having to target feed it in a tank with fish that are known gluttons - I would personally look at substituting a nice wrasse species in here........ what happend your racoon butterfly??? They are good, big, robust fish......
All in, I'd say its a good list, although I would personally avoid keeping multiple angels. I have tried it twice in the past - an emporer/queen combo and an emporer / blue face combo...... they "got along" but in my view Angels should be one to a tank if you want to show them for what they truly are..... otherwise there is a constant (all be it silent) battle going on, which belies true nature of these fish....... in my expereince.
Here's a pic of mine - he's grown from a little under 4" to about 6" in 6 months...... my price and joy
I will conclude the "fish selection" comments with what I would put in your tank (based on your list)
1. emperor
2. clown trigger
3. some kind of puffer (maybe a stars and strips)
4. Picasso trigger
5. Substitute a nice wriasse (Lunare / tuskfish) for eel
6. Substitute a miniata grouper or racoon butterfly for the blue face.
RE water quality - not wishing to dash your hopes, but you are going to struggle to get anywhere near reef conditions with 6 big fish in that tank....... a HUGE skimmer, DSB, remote DSB, large refugium AND lots of water changes.......
And finally - a note on emporer angel. In my view, this guy really needs to feel like king of the hill in the tank, if he is to thrive. A Good diet is obviosuly essential, but your biggest battle is going to be water quality. My advice to you would be this..... give some serious consideration to what you are taking on..... if you are up to the task of mnaging water qualtiy (only you know this), then you should be fine..... if you have any doubts then either select a different angel which will be a little hardier and equally as nice (maculosus / asfur / koran / passer / french) or reduce the stock by letting out a couple of the heavy feeders like the puffer and include something smaller and less of a "monster" when it comes to feed
Good luck - sounds great so far
