210g suggestions

Hello all! I currently have a 120 reef with typical reef fish and I have been putting together equipment for my 210g upgrade. The original idea was to just do a reef in the 210. But lately I have been thinking of setting up an aggressive fo system. Maybe a ray or 2, possibly sharks.. Truthfully, I dont know much about non-reef fish. I wonder if I could get some recommendations for my 210g. where is a good place to find info and inventory? thanks

I think I should also add that my plan is not to stuff it with fish, but house it with a few unique specimens. I'm thinking about eels, rays, sharks, groupers, anglers etc. Not all of course but I hope you get the idea. thanks

Had a feeling that was going to be the case. I thought there were a couple sharks and rays that stayed small.. Groupers I knew get huge but there is one that stays relatively small. Do you know where I could find more info on aggressive tanks?

I agree, Miniatus would be the best bet. As for sharks, I thought there was a breed that would work, a type of epaulette or cat-shark, but it's uber expensive. My memory is failing me on this, perhaps someone else can chime in.

Miniatus was the one I found too.. As for sharks and rays, I was looking at aquacon and this paragraph is what caught my attention.

Sharks and Rays can both be fun additions to an aquarium that is large enough to suit the particular species (minimum size 180 gallons for the smaller or less active species), and that provides the right environment. Most Sharks and Rays are large meat eaters that require large aquariums. Most grow to a minimum of 36 inches and require a minimum 180 gallon aquarium. Many sharks, like the leopard shark, shown above, can grow up to 6.5 ft. long and require a minimum 400 gallon tank. The smallest Sharks and Rays that we have found are: Marbled Cat Shark, Atelomycterus macleayi: 60 cm (24") ; Horned Shark, Heterodontus francisci: 96 cm (38") ; Brownbanded Bamboo Shark, Chiloscyllium punctatum: 100 cm (40") ; California Stingray or Round Stingray, Urobatis halleri, 26 cm (10.") ; Blue Spotted Stingray, Taeniura lymma: 25 cm (10") without the tail.

Is the general census that the smaller shark they mention at 24" and the rays at 10" not suitable for my 210? I'm not trying to force anything. I want to provide a good habitat and I'm completely willing to nix the sharks and rays idea if I have to.

Do yourself a favor and don't use that website as a guide for anything.

I don't really know of any sharks or rays recommended for that size/shape of tank, but there are a few experts on here who should be able to chime in.

The miniatus is a great grouper IMO/E, a nice colour pop in the tank and quite a character once settled. I have had mine a few years now with a lion and an eel, eats everything I give it and is out in the open quite often.
