220 gallon stand built from plans on reefcentral

I thought id share pics of my new reef build. actually, the stand. I'm not a wood worker but I knew what I wanted in my head. I went to pinterest to see if there was anything close and I saw a phot of a stand that directed me to a link here. I cant remember the persons name or where to find the link but he had built a stand for his 120 gallon I think and had taken very detailed photos and descriptions to help other build one similar. as stated I'm not a wood worker. I have never built anything in my life from scratch but through his photos and help I was able to build something I'm proud of. it is all maple with exception to the 2x4 and 2x6 braced skeleton. I'm still finishing the doors but they will be held on with magnets for ease of removal. my sump will be in the basement so there will be no use under the stand so I will be making the center portions of the doors covered in a fabric or grill that will allow for light to show through as I will be adding leds under the stand to make a mood type effect lighting. I stained it to look like an antique piece of furniture. I added scrapes and blotchy stain in places on purpose to achieve the effect. if anyone knows the man who originally posted it. let him know I really appreciate his build page. it really helped me build something no one else has exactly and I like that idea.

I would not use those foam mats for the top, especially if you have a glass tank like that. Don't want to put ANY pressure on the bottom glass when it's meant to be supported by the frame (which it looks like that type of tank in the picture.

I truly appreciate the info on the matting..i have had it full of tap water for 2 weeks with no issue but I do see there is pressure on the foam. I was trying to avoid gaps if my woodworking wasn't perfect but it sounds like its just as dangerous if I use what I'm using. I wasn't aware of the weight being held by the rim on a rimmed tank. so thanks for the info again and ill be rethinking it
