The top does screw off.

I bought it and never used it, I do believe I cleaned it out though.

Ted, it seems I never cleaned it out. It still smells like olives!

hmm... will have to think about it then. If that olive oil has been in it for a long time - it may not be able to be truly cleaned and safe .

I can rinse it out tomorrow to see if it will come out.

ok - not sure that simple H20 will remove the oil from the sides or bottom. Are you totally out of the hobby now?

Not totally out yet - although I wish I were.

Still have a badly neglected 75g tank. Can't even see though the glass at this point as there is so much algae.

I would think it needs to be cleaned with vinegar possibly. Not sure if you can use dish soap or not.

no soap, but vinegar or Chlorine Bleach will do it- be careful of fumes, and wear gloves. Probably need a big plastic brush as well. Maybe more work than it is worth?

whats left in the 75?

My new 65 is going well- other than my PH- no idea what it actually is as either my AC3 no longer works or the new Neptune probe is faulty.

Yeah, I'll throw it out for the garbage before going through all of that!

I do have another, different container that used to hold syrup. I used that as my top off water container for many years.

It is blue and 55g. You can have that for $10 if you would like, I can take a picture tomorrow

The one pictures is free to anyone that wants it, otherwise it is going out for the garbage/recycling next week.

no pic necessary- do you think you can get the blue one in your car? I hate coming up to someones house when no ones home and taking something- feels weird. Also - following my Dr. appt I am usually "stressed" and will then have to figure out how to get to your place- I think I remember - but not sure. NO biggie - either way. I'll buy you lunch for delivery to Wexford ( if it fits) - and we can catch up.
