225 Tank build Pickupman66

Andy, as this tank will have a full hood, I will be putting a new top frame on it. I have ordered it from the critter. hopefully it will be here in the next week or so I can get it put on and get the tank filled completely with water. Ill leave it half full for the next few days to see how it does. I was nervous and didnt even have the car in the car in the garage when I went to fill it. the pump in there is my emergency drain. plug it in and you have 2000gph pumped out. glad it never got touched.

Also, i thought about Euro brace, but flipping and manipulating this tank is not feasable for me alone, so that is why we didnt go that route. also didnt have the extra glass either. I do however have one extra pane the size of the end. It was cut a smidge too small. I wil most likely divide it in half and then glue them under the plastic braces. that way I feel 100% confident this tank will never flex.

Lastly, I have decided to take the piece of starphire glass I was given and have it cut up so I can make either a frag tank or a rimless cube. it is 1/2 thick, so no matter what I do, it will be completely rimless top and bottom. that should make for a very sweet project. depending on what I do with it. I may sell that tank.

Well today I got the floors braced in prep for the tank. I relocated a water pipe. thankfully it was cpvc and very easy to cut, drain and replace. I moved it up the beam it was run along about 6" so I could brace the beam. I added 3 pillars topped with wood. shimmed and tightened to the beams. ill add a photo of what It looks like when I add the plumbing to the area. I was very sweaty and dirty by the time I hauled 15 CMU cinder blocks under the house.

Thanks wayne! as it looks, im going to build a frag tank ro a cube out of the leftover glass. ill let you know if I need more....
