24 Gallon Nano Cube Refugium???

Hello everyone have a question about setting up a refugium in my nano cube...
I've done a good amount of reseach about filtration in nano cubes and have come accross some different things on what other people are doing.

I've had this 24g for a few years now and deceided to do something different w/ my filtration. Refugium.

I've seen most people w/ nano cubes build a refug in the second chamber of the tank. Some went w/ sand, rock, and cheato. Along w/ a submersible light source or have even cut the backing off the back side of the tank. Some have went w/ just rubble rock and cheato.

I was wondering if anyone on RC has tried or done this before? I was planning on getting some rubble rock and sticking a ball of cheato in the second chamber w/ a submersible light. However I started looking at the baffle in the back and noticed if a small peice of cheato would happen to brake off it would then get stuck in the return pump possible causeing problems.

Was wondering if anyone had any imput on this?

I tried it with my biocube and you said exactly what happened. I put it in, ran the lights, the cheato died slowly and then got sucked into the return pump and distributed to every corner of the tank.

in my past nanocube days i used a external light source, used a light strip off a 5gal tank which is perfect for the dimension of the middle chamber and used this bulb my cheato grew like crazy and never once died off. Also you can add a grit screen to block any particles of cheato that breaks off. Cheato wasn't a dark green it was more of a neon green color! hope this helps
