i have caulerpula (spelling) algae in my refugium and was wondering how much lighting a day that it needs. Any suggestions?

If you have calupera you should keep the lights on 24 hours because it keeps them from going sexual. They will disenegrate to reproduce and release tons of nutrients into your tank. They also release chemicals that harm corals. Cheato is a very popular algae for fuges because it wont do that and it grows fast under cheap lighting. It is also great for pods to breed in. I have cheatomorpha and gracillia in my fuge and I have my lighting alternate my display. I like the alternating cycle cause pods come out at night so there is a better chance of them getting pumped into my display
