240g A.G.E. Rimless Tank is becoming reality

I am going to be moving some of the liverock in my 600g tank to this tank and was planning on using acrylic rods or PVC to shape it similar to the Bonsai tank but that is still up in the air.

Chris, there's a build thread over on the SPS forum titled Bonsai-inspired Tank (or something similar). It's a beautiful tank. You should check it out!

That canopy is AWESOME. Thats what I have in mind for my tank. Only it looks 10x better, since you have an open top. Nice nice job!

Thanks for the link! That tank is awesome!
I think you guys might have just helped me decide on a size!
This guys tank size is sweet...36x36x24.

I would guess that it weighs approx. 60 lbs.

That's not bad at all. Thanks.

so whats the deal ! did your build stop or what ? i hope i didn't build that stand for nuthin ..........

Sorry I spent all day today laying pavers in my back yard. My wife and I made an agreement that the pavers had to be laid before I can finish the tank. I have been "sneaking" some work in on the tank like getting the electrical run and adding supports under the house to support the tank's weight. I also started the plumbing so I may start adding water this week to test out the tank.
Stay tuned.

The rimless tank is up and running and the 600g is down and out of the house. I moved over the liverock and the fish/corals that I decided to keep to the new tank. I am more than likely going to do more with the aquascaping since we pretty much threw the rock into the tank during the move. Here are a few pics:

I decided to go with (2) New Eco Tech Marine Vortechs and (1) Tunze 6100 Stream that I had left over from my old tank on top of my Sequence Dart for overall flow.

I am going to wait a few weeks until everything settles before I start adding any SPS but here are a few soft corals and an anemone that have done ok:

Very nice. How long have you had the achilles?

A few months and he was in CMcNeil's take for several months before that. He is a very healthy and hardy speciman.

Thanks Chris. He is back to being the big dog in the tank since I didn't keep the big Vlamingi Tang.
