240Gal Reef of its own kind

That's a great shot of you and the Tanked crew. I have been researching the renew system and I like your use of solenoids instead of pumps to feed the system. Are the floats in place in case the solenoids seize open? Then the Apex detects the float valve and overrides the renew system?

Cheers,
Scott

Lol thanks for the nice comments, Renew is a very good system i love it. it has made my life lot easier when it comes to water changes. storm and rvoc makes life a whole lot easier.
Yes i went with solenoids so there are no more pumps running in the bins and adding on to heat. i do have fail safe floats just about 1/2"-1" above the ATO float. if for any reason ATO foat does not close or solenoid fails stuck open then fail safe sensor will close and cause the main pump that recirculates water in bin and also provides water to solenoids will shut off killing the water feed.
STORM itself has a fail safe float sensor itself if u buy the pro package which will kill the solenoid but if its stuck open water will still pass through unless u kill the feed pump.
By the way Renew is just water change system Storm is ATO and rvoc refills ur ro/di bin when empty.

A complete running Dual QT system. some one asked me to post a pic so here it is;

Today's update:
Sg: 1.009 Temp 80F pH 8.1
All fish look good. Achilles went after the hippo first day then left it alone.
here are few pics from today.

i also dosed prazipro with hyposalinity to see any ill effects. (i have never tried this before).

ok Guys happy to report the progress. i did few things i have never done before to test out my what been asked over and over.
i went into 2 QT tanks with hyposalinity 10 days ago. then i added prazipro 2nd day. ran it for full strength. week later i added formalin ms and ran it for full strength and added another dose second time.
All this with no water change no ammonia spikes no trouble. All fish are doing great. eating like pigs and show no signs of any parasites.
here are few updated pics.

Note: i did get balterial bloom (milky water) with use of prazipro but that is expected as my previous experience tells me. But nothing to worry about will disappear over time.

While my QT's are doing great and all fish are healthy and eating like pigs, this weekend i did start on my main 300 gal tank. i was able to place the rock in there and sand.
i started with everything dry.
i got 300 lbs of Bahama sand and 200 lbs of dry pukani rock.
here are few updated pics.

Nice work so far...

SO... I know the fish are in QT...

The tank is not cycling yet right?

Cycle of 3-4 months...??

Then add the fish?
Are those your plans (I hope??)??

lol no i probably will have instant cycle or very close to it.
sump driving this 300 gal tank is still up and running with all the equipment listed in my signature line and running a 50gal frag tank just not the main tank.
Sump have 50lbs of live rock rubble from 2 yrs ago fully cycled and established along with chaeto in refugium.
i am guessing that due to everything being dry and rised there shouldnt be much die off and if there is due to established sump it should bounce back very very quick.
last time when i fisrt setu this tank (also dry everything) it took 1.5 months to cycle this time it should be much quicker.
only thing i have to do which i already am working on it is to cut the frag tank from the sump when i fill up the main tank and let it drain to sump.
i have a HOB installed on frag tank as of 2 weeks ago so it should be able to handle a month if needed.
here are a few more pics.

How about some more pictures of the setup and mechanics?

I am worried about that cycle though, just IMO.

Sure i will post some more pics on back of the stage.
I am 50/50 on the cycle process. my professional guess is due to 50lbs of very well established rubble rock and a well established sump there is going to be very good amount of bacteria readily available to neutralize ammonia/nitrites but depending on how much die off tank may have it may not be enough. i am guessing about 3 weeks for cycle.
i will find out tomorrow after filling it all up with saltwater and running it.
here some old pics but back stage is same i just replaced sand and rock.
