25 Gallon Anemone Tank

Setup the tank last week. Sold my old Zeovit tank and moved across country with a smaller IM 25 tank. I brought my 6 year old pair of perculas and Japanese Plesiops with me.

Tank is probiotic driven with KZ Zeobak and AIO Biopellets. I modified the return with a Waveline 2500 and have an IM Desktop Skimmer (Working decent, but it is the only option that will fit. Tunze 9001, 02, and 04 not even close). This is also the only tank I have used LEDs on. I have only owned Halides and T5's. I will have a Vertex Libra dosing pump adding Tropic Marin Balling Salts.

I didn't know what I was going to keep i the tank, Im working at a reef shop up in WA. I had my clowns in holding and they instantly bonded to a large Long-Tentacle Anemone. I couldn't say no lol...

Still waiting for my old shop to send me some replacement RODI tubing haha..

It looks real good but did you cycle it first? That's too soon to add an anemone to a new tank.

Not for an experienced reefer. The main thing about telling people to wait until the tank matures is mostly for newbies so they can learn how to keep a tank stable. Besides that rock is well cured by the looks of all of the coralline on it.

Funkateer please show us some pictures of your Japanese Plesiops, this is one rare fish and also please share with us how you came across it? I don't blame you for keeping it as well. The males are gorgeous.

Agreed!

Probably correct (for the most part) on the first point - plus LTA's tend to be quite "hardy"...

Definitely correct on the second point - would like to see pics of it too!

I'll hit you up when I'm back in town Peter. So word is MACNA after party at your house?

As requested... here is an older picture of the Plesiops. Hes still in holding at my shop. I'll take some newer pictures. He is a Plesiops coeruleolineatus the only other one I know was an aberrant one that Kevin Kohen had many years ago.

I got him from an LA run at Sea Dwelling Creatures back in 2013. He was with a few very small morwongs, oddball gobies, and a couple Interruptus angels. All labeled as Japanese fish. I got really lucky. I acquired some morwongs for my old LFS but they didn't make it.

Heck even I'll probably just stay at the hotel :) But you'll have to swing by and see how big the fish have grown... of and the little eel blenny thing that's still kickin' in the reef!

That little bugger is still the coolest fish you have. The stripey is a close second :D

Everyone is settling in really well...

Plesiops finally being photogenic

Tanks looking good.

I'm working on a anemone tank & was considering a Waveline 2500. How do you like yours & do you have any photos of it with something to reference for size?
