25 Gallon rimless cube

Its finally done cycling and I got my new toy in for it. I made a ******* mistake and stuck the cord thing on the tank and now it looks really goofy. I'll be either removing it or figuring out a way to cover it up. I'm considering trying one of those magnetic reef shelfs to see if it would look alright and cover it up or not. I'm also considering just removing it and rigging something up so if the magnet does fail it wont damage the tank.
I'm also waiting on the status of getting a MAME overflow. I have my pre-order in and I'm just waiting for them to get into the states. Then the sump will be set up, heater will be gone along with the HOB filter.

But I'm all ready for coral and fish :) I'm looking forward to picking up some at the meeting next week.

Alan, cube looks fantastic, great job on aquascape. Is this mp10?
We need to start Oklahoma nano reef club.

Thanks! I love the way the aquascape looks, we'll see how it works with corals on it. Yup, its an MP10. It was a good thing I ordered it cause I broke my K-Nano that I had.
I love Nanos, how many guys do we have that have em?

I'm a former local and possibly a returning local and I have nano tanks! I started with a 2.5g actually. If I do end up being stationed at Tinker in the next year or so, my nano tanks will come with me

That's great news. It will be nice to see you back.

That's a great looking tank and it's gonna look beautiful when it matures.

On the subject of your MP10 cord holder, how far from the tank is your lamp-tree? If its pretty close, you might consider using zip-ties to hold the cord to that instead, perhaps a piece of black pipe insulation around the lamp-tree to cushion it in case the motor does somehow come free of the tank. a side benefit of doing it that way is if it comes free, the motor won't be hopping around hanging off the cord against your tank, it will be hopping around against the less glass-like lamp-tree.

Have you considered painting that wall of the tank?

And I now only have nano/pico tanks. Currently have a JBJ 12g and a JBJ Picotope running, and within the first half of 2011 I hope to get my JBJ 28g with DIY LEDs wet. I love the nanos, less real estate to enjoy, but easier to concentrate on finding the little things that inevitably pop-up and surprise you like funky life and so forth.

I actually did that last night per your suggestion. I tried it before without much luck but I got it to work last night. Going to get some fishing line and get the sticky part off the tank sometime today.

I'm not sure about painting it or not yet. I may put a cover over it at some point to see how it looks, but almost all of the clutter on the back side of the tank will disappear whenever my overflow gets in the US.

I agree about finding things in Nanos. While the less real estate kind of bites, it makes it worth while to find those little pieces of corals that will make your tank pop and stand out.

It's all dependent on the Air Force, but I'm pretty sure I'll be requesting AWACS when the time comes.

This is the art of the nano for sure. You have to have a form in mind before stocking to really pull it off. They're hard to just wing. The bonus is, large frags look a lot like colonies in a nano :)
Oh, your scape tempted me to go pull my biocube apart and rescape it again... I hope you can sleep well knowing you're causing me that kind of grief! haha.

My first inhabitant of the tank. I was really wanting a pair of black and white, but I made the mistake of taking my fiance with me to Wet Pets and this girl has been there for awhile and was being picked up. So I picked her up. The good news is, is has sparked the ability of having another tank to move her into so I can get my black and whites.

Thats the other nice things. Frags can make the tank look full and you'll spend a bit less. Unless you're like me have the mentality of "Well, its a smaller tank, I might as well spend the money on really nice frags."
I love this scape, Its awesome to look it and I'm really curious to see how its going to look full of corals.

I did pick up a monti frag tonight as well. I'm not sure I like its current placement. I'll grab a picture when its less ****ed. Its currently sitting on the "tree" rock. I had planned for either a monti or some sort of torch, xenia or something with tentacles mounted on it.

My Maroon Clown died last week. Not sure of the causes but she wasn't eating. After I added the 6-line wrasse she found her way into the rocks and wouldnt come out. I even tried squirting some food in there and she wouldnt touch it. A couple of days later she was found under the "tree" rock dead.

I'm also next in line for a MAME overflow. Heres to hoping someone ahead of me doesnt answer their emails or cancels their order so I can get mine or else its going to be another long wait for them to show up from Japan again.

Some of the pink zoas arent happy about moving moved. They were in the center of the tank near the clam and I really didnt like them there. I think I like where they are at now, but we'll see. The monti wasnt happy about having a bunch of sand dropped on him from moving the zoas.

Did you get it? BTW tank is looking great:D

you guys are getting me interested in maybe having 3 or 4 nano tanks in one area instead of 1 larger tank. The more I think about it the more it makes sense. seems like alot of the marine life I would like to keep cant be mixed with one another and maybe a few smaller specimen only tanks with 2 smaller reef tanks all sharing the same light might be the way to go for me.

Yes, the way I decided to go.

If I had my way, I'd have a small fish room with a few nanos all plumbed together into one sump/fuge system.

Looks pretty complicated:bigeyes:, but very cool. I like it a lot. Same sump won't work for me. My NPS nano is very high polution and waste producer:furious:, but will be great for most systems.
