Nice skimmer! That tank is sweet. You can start with a BRS 2 part but once your corals start to grow out you can swich to a reactor, that might work out.

just get a reactor now if you have any doubts, its always best to start things up with all the equipment. With a 250 its going to cost you significantly less in the long run to keep up with calcium/alk

I missed 1 similer on craigs list a few weeks back! But just scored a 180. Look foreward to reading you build! Ill start mine in few weeks!

Great tank choice, i'm a huge fan of the deep tanks. The light rack looks awsome, where did you get the materials to build it? did you screw it all together or use rivets?

sltloser, Thanks, got the materials at HD. The cheap riveter I bought was a PIA so I ended up bolting it together.

This is the same tank I think I will be getting soon. I will be following this close. Are you going to build your own stand? How tall are you planing on making it?

Joe

IMO you would be better off going with 400w in those lumenmax elites. The 2 x 250w isn't going to be bright enough for an SPS tank thats 60x36x27.

Aka, I'm having a 1-1/2" tubular steel stand made by someone local @ 32" tall, in two sections, I'll wrap it later. The stand will not fit threw the office door in one piece.

Reefer, I'm afraid you might be right. I'm looking at the new lumentec 250/400 ballast. I'll burn the 250 radiums in, since I already have them. Upgrade in 6 months. Thanks B.
