250 watt SE MH lamps compared

Ibassfish these are 250w 10k reefluxes. Used for about 16 hours now. They are on cv e-ballasts. I figured i would stay with the same brand ballast and bulb seeing as this is what they probably use in testing stages. The photo is off my cell phone and blurry but the color is pretty accurate. No hint of yellow here. These look like my HID's on my integra.

Not to shabby for only a week with water in it.

O yeah i am totally satisfied with my reeflux's and so are the neighbors. I'm wondering when the chopper is gonna hover over my house :rolleye1:

I recently added a Reeflux 12k 250w over my 20 gallon prop tank. So far it looks like the perfect balance of color and light I've been looking for. The bulb has only been running for approx 40 hours and it's like having a solar flare in my living room :eek2:
It will be interesting to see how this bulb looks upon burn in.

Thanks for posting your picture of your tank tkeracer619. Looks good. I hope that the 12,000 are not going to be too blue for me. I am running the Blueline E-Ballasts from Champion lighting, and also have four actininc VHO's on IceCap Ballasts.
I have not hooked up my 400 watters yet, due to not having a chiller yet plus I need two reflectors for them. My tank is also fairly new, its approx 5 months old now..
Your tank is looking good, keep us updated with pics of it.

NP. I plan on starting my own thread for my tank but I'm going to wait till I can get some better pics, I was planning on biulding my canopy this week but I fell really hard on a rail snowboarding and put a 2" gash to the bone on my shin. 12 stitches and 700 hundred junior bacon cheesburgers is what the rail cost me.

Awesome tank!!! I think I like the 12,000K on the left side. Maybe if you sent me a frag of something on the left side I could compare it to the photo once in my tank!! :D

i'm jumping from 2x175W SE ReefLux 12K's on M-57 mag. ballasts to 2x250W SE ReefLux 12K's on PFO HQI ballasts.......can't wait for the extra intensity! I love the color of the 12K's.

Reeflux 12K on the left and Reeflux 10k on the right. Both running on a PFO HQI ballast.

Thanks for the picture phishlet. Do you know what the par ratings are for the 10K vs 12K? Can you tell a difference in growth between the two bulbs?

The right side looks really yellow to me, I know it does not have actinics though. I would love to find a bulb that is a crisp white, and lets the actinic VHOs lean it to the blue or purpleish side.
I am really hoping that my Reeflux 12,000 give me the look I want. I not inhibit coral growth.

I did not realize you had asked me a question E-A-G-L-E-S, sorry for the late response. I have not had a e-mail directing me to any recent post until today. On the Reeflux bulbs 12,000 250 watts I run 2 Icecap ballasts (old style) and 1 Blueline from Champion lighting. I also still need to hook up my 2 400 watters that are the same type bulbs, but different wattages. They too will run on the Bluelines.

I am trying out a new bulb on my system called the s.p.s. has anyone tested these to see where they stand? I have a 250 se 14k and it is only burned in for about 20hours but seems really blue, although just looking at it seems to be alot brighter then my xm15k that I took off because really it just looked wack! it was very dim and only has about 200 hours on it.....if anyone has a link where this bulb has been tested or has any experience with them let me know! thanks

Sanjay's website has the 175's tested. The don't test very well (par is low). They are under SDC. The sps stands for South Pacific Sunlight.
