250w EVC electronic ballast users-input wanted

i have a 250w SE EVC MH ballast with a 20k sps bulb in it.color is nice, but intensity is a bit lacking. i am looking for a different bulb that is more intense, is white or has a tinge of blue. any suggestions for me? i have a few sps/acros up top and a bunch of lps-euphylias, physogyra, platygyra,galaxea etc...

People around here seem to love the Radium 20K, I have herdi explained as a 14k with better color. Also supposed to produce great growth. I'm still waiting on them to come out with a de model.

Radium on the evc is very blue. I would try a reeflux 10k with the evc. I used to run the DE version and it was my favorite on the evc ballast.

thanks, i dont think i am going with any 20k's anymore just because most seem to be too blue. the 20k sps i have is borderline "too-blue" for my tastes. when i drive home at night i see this eerie blue cast eminating from my house windows. i can only imagine what the neigbors think! the 10k reeflux might be a good choice.

I found a photo of the DE Reeflux 10K on the EVC. It's on the right side of the tank. Hopefully the SE version is the same.

the problem is that you really cant reason that a 10k DE bulb will produce the same type of light as a 10k SE bulb. they are completely different types of bulbs. that makes it tough.
my tank looks like the left side of that tank right now. that is too blue for me.
i had a hamilton 10k 150w DE bulb that was great. super white. i really liked it.

go with phoenix 14k bulbs, i just got them and love them...pretty white with a tinge of blu.
