250w metal halides too much?

When adding MH lights to your system, acclimate the corals to the light over a period of a week or two.

Start out with an hour for a couple days and slowly increase unil you reach your desired light cycle. If you take it slow your LPS will be fine.

what size is the tank has a lot to do with it, i didn't see you mention that? is it the 75? then i think it would be cool, i agree wiht ray start out slow and work you way up over time

I have 250W 10K Halides with 64W Actinics and 55W T-5 and my tank is 80% LPS and 20% Softies and they all do well. Like stated above jusct acclimate them slowly to the new light if nt they will bleach on ya.

Thanks everyone.I knew about acclimating just wanted to be sure it wasnt too much.Lost all my livestock in a move last year when temps hit 40.Got everything up and cycled.Did some upgrades like skimmer added fuge and sump and the last is lighting.love lps so i didnt want to over do it.
