265 in wall build - Brubakron's Reef

So my quarantine tanks are empty again, and I am thinking about my next fish purchase. Tonight I got the gold headed sleeper goby in the dt, and two engineer gobies into the refugium.

I am in no rush to make the next fish purchase, and want to think about what else goes into the tank from this point on. Below is the current livestock for my set up (corals not included) -

Yellow watchman goby w/ pistol shrimp
Pearly jawfish
Kole Tang
Tomini Tang
Gold spot rabbitfish
Blue sided wrasse
2 black and white clowns
2 blue gurdeons
Yellow tilefish
Starry blenny
Cleaner shrimp
2 peppermint shrimp (at least one for sure, but I believe both to still be in the tank - I can only find one at a time, but they are in different areas of the tank.)
Gold coral banded shrimp
Purple serpent starfish
2 green BTAs
Assorted CUC

75 refugium/frag tank -

Lawnmower
2 engineer gobies
Assorted CUC

*I also have two fireclowns and a red BTA that I plan to put in after most fish are in the tank. The BTA takes up most of a biocube 29, and I am hoping that it will split soon so I could move a clone into the dt prior to the fish.

Here is what I am thinking for my next fish purchase (input is welcome) -

-Mandarin (coming soon for sure - I plan to get the pod population up in a QT tank and purchase one - the pod population in the dt is getting bigger everyday).
- Quoyi Parrotfish - I have read that many people have kept these successfully in a reef tank. Anyone with personal experience it would be appreciated.

The following list are maybe's at this time -
- trio of pyramid butterflyfish
- rhomboid wrasses
- blue spot jawfish
- melanarus wrasse
- linkia starfish

I am looking to get a few unique fish that I will enjoy watching everyday - as I am not wanting to overstock my tank. I am thinking that if I go with the parrotfish then I will add smaller fish from that point on. Of course down the road when the reef is more established I will consider adding a queen angel.

A quick update -
I have ordered two of the jebao wavemaker controllers, however they are currently on backorder. I hope to have them in a month.

After testing my parameters today my alk continues to be lower than I would like so I plan to make sure that the calcium reactor is functioning properly.

A now for the new inhabitants in the qt tank - I picked up a melanarus wrasse and a trio of purple tilefish. The tilefish are all of good size and are eating well. It was too good of a deal to pass up at a lfs for all three of them, especially since most places won't provide an arrive alive guarantee with these fish.

And then my helper this entire morning as I tested all parameters and worked on the tanks.

I have been pretty busy lately, so it has been awhile since the last update. Things continue to go well in the tank, and I believe that I am over the tipping point for the maturity of the tank for coral growth. I have noticed some nice growth beginning to happen with the frags that I have throughout the tank. I also have added two Jaboa wp 25s to the tank, and have the wp 40s and wp 25s each hooked up to the new wavemakers. I am still messing around with the settings, but so far seem to have decent wave action, though I know it can be better. As always input is welcome.

So I had a green BTA split awhile back. Both are right next to each other in the tank on the same rock. You can see though that the left one has much more "bubble" to the tentacles. Just an interesting observation - I believe that it may be in more flow.

And this is a terrible picture, but you can see a rbta under the rock. The massive rbta from the biocube finally split, and I moved the clone into the main tank last night. So far it is hiding out, and will need to acclimate to LEDs. It seems to be doing fine though.

A few pictures to update the thread.

RBTA finally made it into the main tank. After splitting in the biocube one half went into the dt and the other in the fuge with the fire clowns.

It has been in for a few weeks now and has made its way towards the top after hiding out under a rock for most of the time. It is on them move in this picture. The rose color is much more "rose-ish) but it appears a little more bleached out. Not sure if it is still adjusting to the leds or if this is how it shows under these lights. It is definitely healthy though and doing fine.
