Whats the red dragon for?

I would take a guess to say for his return pumpââ"šÂ¬Ã‚¦

Great looking room and setup. I will be needing a new pump soon, what are your thoughts on RD vs say, Iwaki or Little Giant? I have heard many things about other pumps but not much about RD. Thanks

it is just my opinion first off :)

I bought mine because the componenets are higher quality than any used in any other pump available in teh hobby (that I know of). Hard tungsten carbide bearrings, titanium screws and shafts. The pump uses just 65 watts and transfers virually no heat , is dead silent as well. the things are built like tanks!! This pump has a life time gaurantee as well. It is pricey but I will never need another one!! if it dies Scott and Gary from Captive Oceans will take care of it :)

Klaus made a great Skimmer (the BK) and a great pump called the Red Dragon!

since I do not need a pressure rated pump I would not buy an Iwaki that tales 4 times the electricity to operate, is noisey and gets hotter and definately I would never own a mag drive again :)

Man... you don't have the baseboards in yet! I like your priorities :) Do the reef cermiacs have clips to hold them at the top? It sure would be a frightening experence to come home and find one had fallen and scraped your tank.

they have a wider bottom than top so they stand up easily. I have thought about securing them with silicone though. I need to drain the tank one more time and wipe everything down real well. this is when I would secure them.

I am going to get the tile done in the next couple weeks and then the carpet :) baseboards are teh last thing I am doing :)

BK is a beast skimmer brand--but then again, any skimmer that holds more water than by display tank is too big for me lol

Still can gaulk though lol :D
