Hello))

My name is Dima, I live in Siberia and adore marine lives. In the New Year, I started to realize my first project - a 270G reef system. I think it would be interesting to chat with like-minded people from around the world)))

How is the community in Siberia for reef aquariums?
I think it is difficult and not that popular.
Coming originally from Germany, in my country it is much more expensive and difficult to get the excellent equipment like in the United States.

Any pictures of where the tank will be located?

Sorry to say, this particular hobby is even more expensive in Russia than in Germany... It could probably sound like a joke, but the russian marine aquarium hobbists sometimes order goods from your native land and have to pay for the post and customs services. Considering these facts, it still turns to be cheaper in 99% of the cases))

Good luck, Dima! Waiting for your build shots!

Thanks for the link! I see you have a luxurious farm! I loved them! I think that the aquarium will be more beautiful

In Siberia I know about thirty people involved in marine aquarium. But all these aquariums is quite extreme and do not look like what I would do.The main difficulty - the complete removal from the suppliers of marine animals. But to overcome difficulties - it is very interesting))))

You are absolutely right. All who sell marine animals and equipment in our town offer very high prices. Often is cheaper to order anything from other countries, than to buy here. For example, I order the skimmer in Ukraine. LEDs for the light from China, will be installing them in the lamp itself

Now for me very important questions about the choice return pump. Who can reccomend pump for 270G? The main thing that it must be very quiet :) The aquarium will located in bedroom

Welcome. Others may have different ideas but I used an Iwaki MD70RLT with the Japanese motor on my 250 gal. It ran for 5 years without a single hiccup. I just moved across country and am in the process of building a new (bigger) tank but will use Iwaki pumps for my returns again going forward.

One thing to note. Japanese motor Iwaki's don’t come with power cords so be prepared to splice it yourself. Well worth the slightly higher cost and effort however. Great reliability
