28 Gallon JBJ Nano LED

I broke off(fragged) some Idaho Grape Montipora today you can have some if you like. Montis are great for starting out.

Congrats on the tank and the promotion! Just remember to take it slow with the fish.

Thanks Joe! Ya I'm taking it easy. I think I'd like to start with a goby/pistol pair. I set up my scape with minimal rock touching the sand. I wonder if that would mess them up? I know some people use PVC.

That would be awesome Grant. pm'd

nice to talk to you today and hope you find the fish you are looking for what is your cuc?

Thanks! It was nice talkin to you too,

My CUC is

1 Emerald crab
1 Turbo snail
5 Nassarius
20 Ceriths
8 Blue leg hermits

No fish yet. I'm having a hard time finding them locally and I don't know if I want to spend the money online. I've been creeping on liveaquaria every day and it seems they have only had 30gal+ fish up in DD. Patience I suppose...

Params are the same with the exception of Calcium - 440! with the help of sealab no 28 tabs.

I'm starting to see a diatom bloom. Having so little live rock to start a system has prolonged my cycle, but I think it has been well worth the wait.

The tubbs blues frag I got from Mike? (I'm so bad with names) are doing great! I can't find the cord to my battery charger so pics will be coming soon.

Sea Lab no 28 blocks, thats a blast from the past they used to be real popular in the eighties. I didn't know people still used them.

Hah Yea I think they're awesome. There has been a measurable increase of my Calcium from dropping a tab in every few days. They haven't had a negative impact on my other parameters either which is sweet.

Update!

I have some new corals and my first fish! I'm in the market for a tiger pistol to pair with my goby!

Another reefer with a pavona. Love that gold flake sparkle. Pretty cool when you see their tentacles.

Overdue update:

Lots happening in this neck of the woods. Camera is shot - don't mind cell phone pics. Coralline is starting. I have this brown algae right over the front rocks, I'm not sure if its diatoms or not. Special thanks to Grant for the great corals! My Elegance isn't looking so hot this evening. Kind of worried about it.

I added a blue flasher wrasse this evening, but no pics yet. He's hiding at the moment. What a fiasco that was.

My osmolator created a back suction after I turned it off when I was floating the wrasse. Lesson learned...I had a 5 gal bucket of fresh water full of 1.022 salt water. This ended up working out as I didn't have replacement water for the tank. Added some salt and problem solved.

And this is how I learned wrasses can fly...

As I was trying to net him out, he jumped from the bag into the newly created 5 gal bucket of salt water on the ground.

Good times.

love it! the zoa bridge is gonna be great!

thanks for sharing!!

Thanks! I'm patiently waiting for it to grow in. If anyone wants to trade I have frags of stuff.

Just my opinion, but as nice as what you have going is, you need some colored sticks in there!

Agree. Would you happen to have any frags? :)

That goby shrimp pair is awesome just might have to get a pair myself

Ya I really like them. I had a tiger pistol when I had the tank set up in SD. He was a bulldozer. I couldn't keep anything on the sand without it being buried. This candy cane pistol is much tamer. They set up shop right in the front!
