Great setup.

I am curious about your red light bulb. Is it a spiral bulb or straight bulb? If it is a straight, what brand is it?

Nice pick-up. It's a 13 watt red pc and is far and away my favorite light in the tank. The idea is courteous of Dave Playfair (RC tank of the month winner); the red pc combined with VHO actinics makes the subtle purples and pinks in the tank scream - it is truly amazing and far and away my favorite lighting scheme in the tank. I combine it with "VHO sundown" in the evening after the halides have gone off. A company called AHSuppy used to make the perfect kit - a 9w red pc (included reflector, ballast, bulb and installation software). I recently needed to replace the bulb after 5 or so years and turns out they no longer sell the kit. I spoke with a company spokesman and he directed me to their supplier - I don't have that info on me but I think I have it at home - I'll try and get it to you. The tank could probably use two of them and I may add the 2nd later. You'll have to see it in person sometime - like I said, it really is beautiful lighting.
