29 Gallon biocube lighting

I have been thinking about buying a 29 gallon biocube and I would like to know if the stock lighting is good enough to keep soft low light corals.

I know some of you have made changes and upgraded the lighting but am not really looking to spend hundreds of dollars on a lighting kit from nanotuners.

The biocube is pretty pricey and if I had to upgrade the lighting to be able to have some soft corals then i think I would rather buy a regular suqare tank and start buying all the equpiment individually.

I would like to know what you guys think. I really like the look of the Biocube and look is important because it will be in my livingroom. So i would like to know if the stock lighting is good enough.

I hope I get feedback from Biocube owners as I would like to buy the tank this week.

Thanks in advance for all the information.

the stock lighting would allow you to keep softies, and just about all of the lps species. you wont be able to hack anemones, or sps. I have a bio cube 8 as my dorm room tank, what i did is took out the bioballs got a sbmersible light for the middle chamber and added macro. in the overflow chamber i run carbon and phosban. I need to upgrade the pump, im thinking to a mj 1200. This week i am changing the lighting to a 70 watt mh because i want to keep some sps.

Hi

Hi

I hope to hear from other 29G Biocube owners. I want to set up my tank soon but I want to make sure the stock lighting of the Biocube is good enough for soft corals.

Come on Biocube owners, I need your input.
cheers

Don't worry about the lighting. I have ran the lighting stock for 6 months now and have no problems. I have lps, softies , zoas , and even a montipora digitata in there. Yes it is the Biocube 29. I even think it has more than enough flow in stock form. The only thing I did was remove the bioballs and replaced it with live rock rubble.
