There is a big difference because you are using macroalgaes instead of the scrubber effect of the hair algae of an ATS. Plus, it may be the only equipment other then the light you will need.

do a HOB ATS !!!! that would be cool. DIY of course.
HMMM, you may have something here my friend. An HOB w/mangroves growing out of it? I can see the possibilities.

i have that same tank and stand

Thats awesome! Do you have any pictures you can post? It will help give me an idea of what direction to take.

As an update, the tank is still going thru the cycle process. Ammonia is now dropping. I was reading on adding chaeto while cycling and making it a faster cycle and also reducing the other algae cycles. Hans hooked me up with a baseball sized piece of chaeto in the beginnin of March. It's now the size of a volleyball. I pruned it and threw a baseball size piece in there. We'll see how it does.

have you decided on what youre going to put in as far as fish?

Not quite. Just so many options. At one point even cuttlefish crossed my mind. Lol.

I'm still unsure.

Let's try something I saw on another forum.

So, lets imagine for a minute that you setup a 29 gallon fowlr tank. What would YOU put in it? :D

Im sure I could get some awesome ideas from you all

well i would make it a tank with one nice bubble tip, and 2 nice clowns. Or a single species coral tank. just my 2 cents.

im not sure what will stay small enough for a 29 gallon...if i were going to do a FOLR i would want an agressive tank (but thats just me)...i kind of liked your idea of a dwarf lion fish...ive always thought that the lions are way cool!

shaun

Two words, "Horse Ranch".

No need for strong light, and some good sized fans blowing directly at the tank glass should keep the Temp in the tank low so the horses dont come down with something

haha thats your suggestion for everyone, i think erik really wants some horsies himself. i also suggested what i would do for me though.

Kinda delayed on this tank. It has now become a temporary home for most of the coral and the clam. Once the 72 settles a bit from the leak fix, this will all go back in there.

It came and went. :(

I got it on Monday. Looked good. I drip acclimated for a out 2 hours. Died the next morning. Weird. He seemed a bit stressed.

I'll be ordering another one soon.

Well. This tank build is really going nowhere. I thought I'd keep up with it but haven't really. I don't have enough time for it so it has to go.

Asking 175. It's the tank, stand, about 40 lbs of sand, 15 - 20 lbs of live rock, and Koralia 2 powerhead.

No light fixture.

If anyone is interested text me at 915-258-5233.
