29 gallon cube stocking

Hello,
I am currently looking into my first saltwater aquarium after years of freshwater. I am pursuing a marine biology degree and have done my research on the upkeep of various species though I would like some advice from people who have physically kept the species I am looking at.

It is a JBJ nano cube 28 gallon
25lbs live rock
10lbs live sand

I planning on stocking it with:

1 lemonpeel angelfish
1 six line wrasse
1 barberi clownfish
1 falco hawkfish

all of the fish listed I am planning on purchasing at 1-2.5 inches long (all under 2 in except the lemonpeel which will come between 1.75 and 2.5)

looking forward to the feedback, will take any advice given

The lemon peel angelfish is too big for that size tank. I also would be careful about the six line wrasse as they are very aggressive

Okay so no six line or lemon peel. That sucks, I was really wanting one of those lemonpeels. If I am planning on getting a larger tank in the next couple years is it possible to keep one until then? If not, any suggestions on stocking would be appreciated.

Don't get one until you actually have a bigger tank. A royal gramma or fire fish would be a nice fit

If you want a fish with a big time personality get something like a tribal blenny/midas blenny. I love them so much, may be a little big but if do him and 2 clowns you'd be fine. This blenny is the most lovable thing ever

Two clownfish w/ anemone
Yashia goby with pistol shrimp
Royal gamma ( very territorial though)
Bicolor blenny
Firefish
Cleaner shrimp


The midas blenny is indeed a great fish and a jumper so you would have to make sure your tank is covered. Overall they all get along however just make sure all your fish are docile. Just one can really ruin the nice vibes in such a small space.

Be aware that fire fish are also jumpers. As far as fish with personality, I also like yellow pilot goby. You can also find the your inverts can add personality to your tank. Emerald crabs, and the cleaner shrimps can be very fun to watch.

If your set on an angel, I would do a pygmy atlantic angel. Yellow face, blue body. Blennies are cool as mentioned above. Perhaps a hawkfish

Even a pygmy angel is too big for a 28 gallon tank

Yes a basslet would be a good choice. If you want wrasses, look at pink streak wrasses (look similar to a sixline) or wetmorella wrasses.
