I have 2 ocellaris clowns, 1 purple firefish, and 1 green chromis. Can I add a cardinal or something small? I don't know about a goby because I have really fine sand and don't want them to be causing a sand storm, will they? If not a cardinal or goby can I add anything else?

I kind of want a different fish than I already have to have a variety, are you sure I can add a Pygmy angel? What kind? Will my bio load be too much? Can I just keep up on water changes. Thanks for the advice. Others welcome, does anyone else think I can add something else?

I had a coral beauty in with 2 ocelaris, 1 bicolor blenny, 1 royal gramma , and 1 yellowtail blue damsel, but I had a 10g sump for a little extra water volume, everyone was happy, but mid upgrade now

2 firefish will become one in that tank. And most dwarf angels require more space.

I vote shrimp goby of some sort or another.

+1 on the shrimp goby. Otherwise, Yellowstriped Cardinalfish (Ostorhinchus cyanosoma),
Neon Goby (Elacatinus oceanops), Court Jester Goby (Amblygobius rainfordi) or Green Clown Goby (Gobiodon atrangulatus) should be good nano tank fish, kept singly. Just check on compatibility of each with your current fish.

Yellow Clown Goby (Gobiodon okinawae) and Citrinis Clown Goby (Gobiodon citrinus) are yellow.

Will they create a sand storm, I have really fine sand. Have to worry about the powerheads doing the same but I fixed that.

How is the coral beauty doing? Will he be okay if I add him in with 2 clowns, fire fish and a chromis? Is he to big for my 29 gallon?

I wanna upgrade to a 40 breeder cause I have to move the tank so might as well by a 40 for 40. I'm thinking 2 clowns, 1 firefish 1 royal gramma 1 flame angel, 3 chromis, would that be pushing it?

I cannot speak to the suitability of a flame angel in a 40 gallon tank but my concern would be territorial aggression between the clowns and the flame angel.

Secondly I do not see there being room for 3 chromis to live happily without fighting to the death in a 40 gallon tank but there perhaps might be someone who disagrees

The other fish seem fine as long as you introduce the firefish first since it is too shy/peaceful

I think a cardinal would be perfect. Go for it. Much better fit than a dwarf angel. And I would not get mutiple firefish or multiple chromis. If you want something yellow, a clown goby should be ok, although I would have much preferred to add it before the clowns/chromis.
