What a night. Got everything unpacked and acclamented and in the tank. It took about 3hrs. The boys and I had a blast. They were very excited to see what was in the bags and they even helped put in the rock.

I found too many things to mention..I will provide a update tomorrow.

Thanks Richard

Good job on the aquascaping!

Now keep a close eye on the ammonia and don't let it go over 1ppm.......as you have a small tank and a full load in it......once you get a week under your belt, you are good to go and can relax!

Keep me posted

Ammonia is .5 to 1ppm. Tank is looking good.. I know I have a pistol shrimp and I think I may have a mantis as well.. I will post some more pics tomorrow of the all the coral and other cool things...

those lobsters are awesome. Richard gave me 2 of them when i first got the package - named them ricky & bobby. They go through snails at an insane rate. They flip them upside down and dig them out with their legs. Unfortunately they only eat live snails (at least mine did). I tried frozen shrimp but no go. They eventually died, hopefully you'll do better than i did!

No ammonia but plenty of phosphates.. I am not sure if I should wait it out or try some chem pure elite? Lights are still only on for 5hrs a day, water temp is at 76 and I am only feeding Micro Vert..

Any Ideas?

Still got high phosphates and no ammonia. The only changes to the tank so far is I moved the slipper lobster, I add a little marine snow 2x a week and nothing else.

I broke down and put a small amount phoslock in to see if It will help. I am not doing water changes as the ammonia is fine...

Patience,Patience....

I think you're doing the right thing by keeping an eye on phosphates. I let PO4 get quite high ( about 2ppm) and I think I had some PO4 adsorption onto some of the rock. I haven't bothered to test the Microvert I was using but I wouldn't be surprised to find it has a fair amount of phosphate in it. The PO4 I suspect is in the rock has led to some fairly significant hair algae problems, which has led to a lot of toothbrushing of live rock.
